Quick & Easy Cocoa Bites

April 30, 2018

One of my favorite ingredients to use is oats. Whether it's for breakfast or snacks it's a simple base or additive to create a healthy and delicious treat.

These Cocoa balls are perfect for anyone that wants to create a home-made sweet without having to use too many ingredients nor take up too much time in the kitchen.

Aside from being quick and easy to make they are dairy-free.

3 1/4 of cup Oats

1/2 cup of Coconut Oil (measured as liquid)

1/2 cup of Peanut butter (or any nut butter)

1/2 cup of Almond milk

1/2 cup of Brown sugar

1/4 cup of Cocoa powder

1 tsp. of Pure Vanilla Extract

1/2 tsp. of Salt

Servings: 10

  • Place the oats in a bowl and set aside

  • In a cast iron skillet or sauce pan, combine the coconut oil, peanut butter, almond milk, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and salt

  • Turn the heat on to a medium and stir until the sauce comes to a boil

  • Stir for another 5 minutes

  • Remove from heat and add the Pure Vanilla Extract

  • Add the oats and mix until they are coated in the sauce mixture

  • Let cool then create small to medium size balls

  • Place onto a sheet of wax or parchment paper and allow to cool to harden

*You can place the balls in the refrigerator or the freezer as well*

                                   They are also toddler approved!
