Aromatherapy: Essential Oil Blends

Aside from diffusing, essential oils can be used for aromatherapy by applying oil blends to your body. You don't need to spend a lot of money nor take up too much space in your home with an essential oil collection because one oil can be used on it's own or blended with so many other oils. The combinations to create are endless. It's really up to you and what your preference in scent as well as the purpose you're using the essential oil for is. Here's a list of symptoms you may feel occasionally along with the recommended essential oil blend and area to treat.

 

 

Symptoms: Headaches, Nausea, Motion Sickness, Insomnia

Area to treat: Head/Back of Neck

Essential oil blend: Lavender and Peppermint

 

Symptoms: Cough/Congestion

Area to treat: Chest

Essential oil blend: Lemon, Eucalyptus, Peppermint

 

 

Symptoms: Stress, The Blues

Area to treat: Over the Heart

Essential oil blend: Bergamot, Ylang Ylang

 

Symptoms: Menstrual Cramps, Digestion trouble

Area to treat: Stomach

Essential oil blend: Sage, Peppermint, Ginger

 

 

 

Symptoms: Shoulder pain/ Joint pain

Area to treat: Shoulders

Essential oil blend: Clove, Wintergreen, Ylang Ylang

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I recently shared my review on the Inno Gear diffuser I use. Here's a list of some of my favorite essential oil blends to diffuse and for which tasks I find that these blends work best.

 

 

Wake-up

2 drops of Lemon

4 drops of Lavender

6 drops of Sage

 

Concentration

2 drops of Peppermint

4 drops of Lemon

6 drops of Rosemary

 

Headache/Sinus

4 drops of Peppermint

5 drops of Eucalyptus

 

Cramps

3 drops of Lavender

4 drops of Cypress

5 drops of Peppermint

 

Sleep

5 drops of Lavender

7 drops of Chamomile
