While my mom was visiting we decided to go to Wynwood and pass by Mr. Kream, also known as the Hip-hop ice cream shop. Mr. Kream takes the traditional ice cream shop to the next level. Everything from the decor to the ice cream is infused with the Hip-hop culture. There's a wide variety of items on the menu such as natural smoothies, shakes, floats, baked goods, and of course- ice cream with names inspired by Hip-hop. They even have sorbets which is perfect for anyone who is diary free.
Jahzel chose a watermelon flavored sorbet, MC LYTE and I chose GUCCI LEMONADE, a lemon flavored sorbet. My mom had the DIRTY COFFEE.
As soon as you walk in you'll notice that Mr. Kream is unlike any other ice cream shop. There was so much that caught my eye. There's graffiti art, neon light signs, spray paint cans, records, art pieces, and portraits of Hip-hop legends displayed on the walls to go with the Hip-hop theme.
It's a family friendly environment, at least during the day which is when we went. My kids loved it! There's enough space for everyone and plenty of options for you to sit and enjoy the sweet of your choice. Whether it's the traditional table and chairs, a couch that will make you feel like you're back in high school hanging out with friends, facing a DJ booth or a picnic table with an over-sized Jenga and Uno game set to play.
There's also an arcade game and an extra room next to the main area as well as a section that's caged in with merchandise for sale.
Mr. Kream offers much more than something for your sweet tooth, it's an experience. You'll never walk into a franchise ice cream shop and get music, art, and ice cream all in one. If you're ever in Wynwood, I recommend passing by Mr. Kream.
