From the Caribbean to Bayfront park: A cultural celebration

February 15, 2018

For the 3rd year in a row, actor and entrepreneur, Julian Gil, brought Fiestas de la Calle to Miami. Fiestas de la Calle is one of the biggest Puerto Rican celebrations in the United States that brings people together to honor the island and its culture.

The third edition of Fiestas de la Calle Miami was directed by one the of greatest musicians and musical directors in the Latin music industry, Angel "Cucco" Peña. Ednita Nazario, international recording artist, was honored with holding this years Godmother title. She performed and was presented a Proclamation for her musical career as well as the key to the City of Miami.

Fiestas de la Calle Miami took place in Bayfront Park, the annual events new home and ideal environment for people of all ages to gather and celebrate. There was an assortment of authentic foods, beautiful displays of artisans, and activities for the children.

Many artists took the stage to perform a tribute to the island of Puerto Rico. We enjoyed talents such as Luis Enrique, Pedro Cabo, Obie Bermudez, Vico C, Melina Leon, Johnny Lozada, and Kany Garcia among many others.

Thanks to Julian Gil and his team who met with the President of WIPR in Puerto Rico prior to the event, Fiestas de la Calle Miami was transmitted LIVE for the first time for our family and friends on the island to enjoy.
